Mom and dad were opposites....

...in every way I can think of. She would have been 88 this Saturday. He never saw 60.
She was a saint who had two special-needs sons, out of four, started a new job at 40...and walked across a cemetery every morning to catch a city bus to get there. He was the only person I have seen who could turn up a half-pint of whiskey and not make a face. Anybody would be hard-pressed to say something good about my dad, but I wish he was still here. Family transcends behavior. Family means..."sit here on the couch with me". Be busting out proud of your family so that nobody would dare say anything negative about them to your face.

motorcycles

I remember back in the day (20 yrs ago) when I would watch my son wheelie his motorcycle up and down the street. Ten minutes ago, I watched him doing the exact same thing...on a little bitty motorcycle...only this time he flipped over backwards and rolled in the street....no helmet. I think he is getting a little too old for this, and I know I am. Those were the good ol' days...let's leave them there.

Histoplasmosis...

is a lung infection caused by a fungus. It is usually caught by breathing dry, dusty air that is contaminated by bird or rodent droppings, such as attic crawl spaces and caves. You can die from it if untreated, and it can involve other organs. Symptoms are...a general ill feeling, chest pains/discomfort and a dry cough.
Antifungal medications are available.
